Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Pause Wallet and PauseSafe applications ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Services

Pause Wallet provides a self-custody cryptocurrency wallet system with time-locked transfers, transaction revocation, and multi-wallet architecture. Pause WalletSafe is a companion recovery wallet. Both operate on the Ethereum blockchain (including testnets).

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Services complies with all applicable laws.

4. Self-Custody & Responsibility

Pause Wallet is a self-custody wallet. This means:

You are solely responsible for your private keys, seed phrases, and PINs.
We do not store, have access to, or control your private keys or funds.
If you lose your seed phrase or PIN, we cannot recover your wallet or funds.
You are responsible for the security of the device(s) on which you use the Services.

5. No Financial Advice

Nothing in the Services constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Cryptocurrency is volatile and risky. You should consult qualified professionals before making financial decisions. We make no guarantees regarding the value, performance, or security of any digital assets.

6. Wallet Security Features

Pause Wallet's time-lock, revocation, and multi-wallet features are designed to add layers of protection but do not guarantee absolute security. No software can eliminate all risks associated with cryptocurrency ownership, including but not limited to:

Smart contract vulnerabilities
Network congestion or failures
Device compromise or malware
User error
Blockchain protocol changes

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Services to:

Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Engage in money laundering, terrorism financing, or sanctions evasion
Interfere with or disrupt the Services or connected networks
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' wallets
Use the Services for any fraudulent or deceptive purpose

8. Intellectual Property

The Services, including all code, designs, branding, and patent-pending technology, are owned by Pause Wallet and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Services without written permission.

9. Beta Software Disclaimer

The Services may be in beta or early access. Beta software may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features. By using beta Services, you acknowledge and accept the additional risks involved. We strongly recommend using testnets and small amounts during beta periods.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Pause Wallet AND ITS CREATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR DIGITAL ASSETS, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pause Wallet, its creators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time for any reason. Your right to use the Services terminates automatically if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your wallet and funds remain under your control (self-custody), but you may not access the Services interface.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
